(HONG KONG, June 13, 2024) American Express announced a new merchant acquiring partnership with fintech start-up KPay Merchant Service Limited (“KPay”), which sets to help expand American Express acceptance among small-to-medium-sized establishments in Hong Kong.
The collaboration reaffirms American Express’ commitment to supporting local retailers in Hong Kong and helping them grow their businesses by offering them access to American Express Cardmembers – both local and those visiting from around the world. SME merchants will also enjoy various digital payment capabilities such as contactless or mobile wallets through KPay’s platform to strengthen their competitiveness and enable new business opportunities.
American Express’ relationship with KPay will help provide even more places in Hong Kong for American Express Cardmembers to shop. Globally, since 2017 American Express has more than tripled the number of locations worldwide that accept American Express Cards to more than 89 million1. In Hong Kong, the Company has added 10,000 merchant locations to its acceptance network in 2023.
